Book Review: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's stone

So recently my mom made me and my brother read Harry Potter. I've heard about Harry Potter from people talking about it like in school and such. I have never read the book so I was pretty keen and excited to read it. My brother had started without me and was on chapter 3, so I had to catch up with him.  To be honest, in the beginning I was pretty excited but then I wasn't that excited. When I started reading it though, it felt so addicting and I had to keep going. I only stopped when my phone ran out of battery. So without further ado, let us start this review.  The book starts by introducing us to the Dursleys. The Dursleys hate anything that's out of the ordinary. That's why Mrs Dursley rarely talk about her sister Lily Potter.  I honestly don't have a favorite character in the book. Don't get me wrong, the characters are great but I can't pick a favorite. All of them are really cool and fun to see and read about so it's really hard to pick a favorite....

My Final Semester Exams

Image
A few weeks ago, I had my final semester exam. I had 9 tests in total. I had 1 on the first day, and then I had 2 the next days. The tests usually lasted for around 1 to 1 and a half hours long. Some tests were pretty hard while the rest were relatively easy.   The tests started on Thursday and ended on the Wednesday the next week. We had a break in between on the Saturday and Sunday on the weekend which gave us enough time to study a bit more. Each test started at 8am and we had to join 20 minutes before so we usually joined at 7:40.  The first test I had was combined science and IPA. It lasted for an hour and a half. I had studied last night and a bit before that so I was still a tad bit unprepared. I completed the test an hour and 10 minutes later and I double checked my answers after that. When the test ended I took a break and laid down for awhile.  The next day I had Bahasa Indonesia and ICT. I was more worried about Bahasa Indonesia because I'm not real...

Midterm Exams

Last week, I had the midterm exams. I had 6 tests in total. 1 on Wednesday, 2 on Thursday and 3 on Friday, Monday and Tuesday were our normal schedules. I don't know my scores yet but I hope they're good. The kinda relieving thing about the tests were that after everybody had finished the tests, they were dismissed from school for the day. When I saw this I felt more relieved and less anxious. Overall, the tests weren't so hard. Some tests were hard though, and I had some trouble doing them.  Another thing that kinda worried me was that we had to join 20 minutes before the meeting, so if the meeting started at 8:00, we had to join at 7:40, this was so the teachers could see if everybody was ready and explain the rules of the test, and so that we could start exactly at the scheduled time. For the meetings, we used Zoom, and we had to use our phones to join the meeting. Why? you might be asking, this is so that the teachers can see if any pupil tries to cheat. If we used our ...

What HBL (Home Base Learning) Feels Like.

Hello! It's been awhile since I wrote a blog, mostly because a school and other stuff. Now I'm back and I've decided to write what it feels like to do HBL which stands for 'Home Base Learning'. If you didn't know home base learning is when you learn at home using a laptop/pc. For HBL, my school uses Google Classroom to show students the homework and google meet or zoom for the meetings. I used to use my own laptop for school, but it started lagging a lot while using google meet, so I had to switch to my mom's laptop. For me, HBL is easier than normal school because I don't have to go to the actual school. In Ireland I was usually late to class, because we could never get early to school. Here, sometimes we wake up late, I can usually get to school on time!  HBL is easier than normal school, but its a lot more boring. Sitting 6 hours at a screen gets boring when you aren't playing/watching a video. I just can't sit down for a long time. I need to...

Differences Between Ireland and Indonesia

Image
Hello and welcome back! Today I'll be writing about a few differences about Ireland and Indonesia. I've seen many differences and I thought I'd write them down. So, without further a do, let us start this blog. 1. This first difference I have noticed is obviously the weather. The weather in Indonesia is burning, and I keep sweating so much. The coldest temperature here is probably the hottest in Ireland. I can't sleep without the air conditioning on or else when I wake up, I'll be literally swimming in a pool of sweat. 2. The next difference I've noticed is the food. I really enjoy the food in Indonesia. I like the mix of spices and sauces. I enjoy Indonesian food more than Irish food.  Mostly, because in Ireland, there's not a lot of spicy food, while in Indonesia there's a bajillion amount of spicy foods you can choose from. 3.  In Ireland, There's barely any motorcycles, but in Indonesia all the roads are full of m...

But I have decided to only write my top 10 that I would never forget from Ireland, so without further a do, let's start! Note: This list is not in order such as number 1 is the one thing I would ever never forget. This list is just 10 things I'll never forget. Each number will be equal. 10. My Friends We'll start of the list with my friends, I would probably never forget my friends as they have been my friends for quite a long time. I have played many games with them and we had a lot of fun together 9. The green grass The next thing I'll never forget is the green grass. In Ireland, I use to play in the field at the back of where I used to live. My friends and I would always run around on the field. The grass was so green and it looked really cool in ...

Flying Back Home in The Pandemic

Image
Hello, and welcome back. Today I'll be writing about how I flew back to my home country while in the pandemic. It took about 2 days. Sit back and relax, and let's start this! I woke up at around 6 and wore my clothes, brushed my teeth and got ready. I left at around 6:30 - 7. It was about a 2 hour drive and we reached around 9. At the airport, my dad had t go back to return the car and we went in line. There was only 1 line due to the pandemic. When were done all the boring stuff, we waited and then boarded the plane. We were riding KLM and we were heading to Amsterdam in Netherlands. The trip was  about 1 hour and 40 mins. Surprisingly, the plane was very crowded and I only saw 1 seat that was free. When we reached the Netherlands we tried to find the hotel, but it was full, so we had to sit in the seats. Before taking a break, we ate some sandwiches and I dropped some orange juice on the chairs.  We ended up sleeping on the chairs. Before that, We relaxe...
