Jakarta has had a lot of names in the past. Some of these names are Sunda Kelapa and Jayakarta. In total Jakarta has had 4 different names.🤯🤯🤯
Jakarta is the capital of Indonesia and is also the largest and most populated city in Indonesia. Jakarta has over 10 million people living in it! That's at least 6 million more people living in Ireland! Imagine that, A city has more people living in it than a whole country!
Jakarta has a lot of food and restaurants for you to try out too. If you don't want to eat at a restaurant you can always try the street foods you can find at every corner! You can also try a Warteg which is short for Warung Tegal.
Jakarta has a lot of ways to transport. Jakartan people love using motorbikes. You can also use MRT which is like a train system or you could use a car. One of my favorite ways of transporting in Jakarta is using an angkot. An angkot is kinda like a van that you use to get to places.
Here is what an angkot looks like:
There is also a website named Go-Jek. Go-Jek is an app that lets you get a ride or get someone to get food for you. Go-Jek has a lot of services such as go-ride, go-food, go-car, go-send and even go-massage!
There's also another app similar to this one but its called Grab. Personally, I like go-jek more and my dad uses go-jek a lot more as well!
