Book Review: Diary of a Wimpy Kid (8), Hard Luck

Hello! Today I'll be writing about the eight book in the Diary of a Wimpy kid series: Hard Luck. In this book Greg explains how he doesn't like Rowley's girlfriend Abigail and how she doesn't like Greg and Rowley being friends.

I found this book in the Frisco Public Library in the kids section. I thought it looked interesting so I gave it a try and it was the fifth book I read👍👍

In the book Greg finds a magic 8 ball that guides him to things that help him. He describes how his whole family have been fighting for a ring that his great great grandma had and he said it was worth over 5000 dollars.

In a search for friends he tries to find new friends but his options are limited. One of the people he doesn't wanna choose is Fregley for obvious reasons. He then thinks of other people he could be friends with but can't think of anyone

After a while, He finds his mom's secret closet where he finds clones of his stuffed monkey "Snuggles" he had when he was little. He then realizes that a lot of things make sense now. When he was little he lost Snuggles at the beach but when he got home he saw Snuggles on his bed. 

He also finds a lot of books about children and he finds one called Making Friends for Your Child. He also says that this makes a lot of sense because his mom has been trying to get him a new friend after him and Rowley became enemies. He also finds another book called helping your child with loss.

He then remembers about his pet worm he had when he was little called Squirm the Worm. Squirm got squished by Manny and after that his mom said that Squirm was in worm heaven and he assumes his mom got that from the book

At the end he finds the ring but decides to hide it so his family doesn't fight again and he makes up with Rowley. He then explains that friends come and go and that's fine with him.
